User Reviews: My sister went to Ochsner Addictive Behavior Unit last year and it saved her life. Honestly, it did much more than that though. I stopped talking to my sister years ago because I had given up that she’d ever get sober and then remain that way for any length of time. She’s struggled with addiction for 13 years and has been to rehab so many times I’ve lost count of how many. She usually finished those programs but she never stayed clean for more than 2 months. Usually though, she’d relapse within a week or two. It was depressing for everyone involved and after a while I made myself not care if she in rehab or getting high. I would have loved for her to go to a rehab and then stay sober afterward but I just didn’t see it happening. Until she went to Ochsner Addictive Behavior Unit. So many things changed for her there. Mainly she got sober and finally had the desire and the tools to stay that way. It’s been 8 months she since graduated from Ochsner Addictive Behavior Unit. She hasn’t relapsed. She’s still working hard and doing the things she needs to in order to stay sober. My sister has been to so many rehabs that I can say with complete honesty that it wasn’t just that my sister went to rehab or that she decided that she wanted to be sober. It was going to Ochsner Addictive Behavior Unit specifically that made the difference and I’m still amazed how much better she’s doing.

User Reviews: Please require that every conversation held with doctors and social workers be recorded. Please. I went in for a 3 day evaluation for $3000. I did not tell me at the start that if they recommended treatment that my particular insurance will not cover it so it will be completely out of pocket. Basically I wasted $3000 because I will have to have the same valuation at a facility that does take my insurance. When I received my final report after my stay they were many false things said in it that I did not say. And because of that I was diagnosed with multiple addictions. Had the conversations been recorded when meeting with the doctors that final report would not have said what it said. It’s a money maker. They want you there because they make money. Period. If I ever have another a valuation at a different facility I will demand our conversations be recorded or I will not do them

Latest Reviews Of Rehab Centers In Louisiana LA

Such a fun place to be! They are very kind, accommodating and knowledgeable. Would recommend anyone to go there. They honestly want to help and make you feel better, and to get back your sobriety. They are the real deal! The gym/pool/fitness time is in my honest opinion the most beneficial aspect as it gave me a scheduled time to exercise and rid my body of nasty free radical toxins which can cause depression, it also gave my body an important rush of an endorphins to get back on track to living a healthy manageable life.

Louisiana Health and Rehab Reality House is really a rehab that is a bit different from other places. They have an open ended program, which means you got to stay as much as you need to finish your program. The nurses helped me through and all the other staff members who were working with us. They really had a hard time with me, I think I was the hardest probably, maybe not but they helped me, they gave me vitamins, and meds when I needed, and so on, so I got through the hard part, I started on the program, which I quite enjoyed cause I could choose between a few things.

Incredible chef and meals. Personalized plans are designed to set goals and provide ideas for helping to maintain abstinence. Overall a good program! Was a different approach then other centers. The treatments were tailored to each patient and well-rounded, focusing on the entire body and mind. This place was excellent. I missed my family but they made sure that I felt home there.

Staff was great and overall a great experience.

Louisiana Substance Abuse Facts

Substance abuse is prevalent in all parts of the United States, Louisiana included. Below are some statistics from 2015 concerning substance abuse among Louisiana residents aged 12 or older:

  • About 427,000 people 12 and older reported having abused marijuana.
  • Approximately 66,000 individuals reported cocaine use.
  • An estimated 6,000 people abused heroin that year.
  • More than 250,000 individuals had an alcohol use disorder.

Just over 12,000 people were in some type of substance abuse treatment program in a single day count in 2015, an increase from previous years. Considering the staggeringly large number of people who abuse drugs and alcohol, this one-day snapshot of those seeking treatment only represents a small portion of those who need addiction treatment help. Those who fail to seek help for substance abuse risk significant impairment in many areas of their lives including the development of significant mental and physical health problems.

Where Else Can I Find Help?

If you have an addiction to drugs or alcohol and you don’t have insurance, there may be alternative means of funding addiction treatment services. There are several ways in which you can finance your substance abuse treatment, such as:

  • State programs: These programs are funded by the government to provide a lower cost substance abuse treatment option for people in need.
  • Sliding scale: Some recovery programs are able to adjust the cost of treatment based on an individual’s income.
  • Payment plan: Likewise, a treatment program may allow an individual to pay off treatment over time if paying upfront would a cause significant financial burden.
  • Grants: You may apply for various drug or alcohol abuse grants offered by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

Other options for paying for rehab include taking out a personal loan or even asking for financial help from people who love you.
