Jefferson Parish Human Services Authority West Jefferson has given me the steps, the encouragement and the hope that i needed to lead the rest of my life in sobriety, with full gratitude, I can now focus. Caring staff Located in a serene environment. Beautiful place, perfect for changing your life. Their MRT program is amazing. Moral Recognition Therapy. You also cannot get bored at this facility. The detoxification program and medical aid are provided to heal the physical body of clients. The staff was fantastic and the tools I learned I will carry with me for life.

I have zero complaints. Stayed 60 days and needed all of it. Thank you to all the staff. You guys are fantastic. There is not a better place in the world than Addiction Recovery Resources Inc. I promise I will only be returning as alumni and not a patient.

Louisiana Health and Rehab Reality House is really a rehab that is a bit different from other places. They have an open ended program, which means you got to stay as much as you need to finish your program. The nurses helped me through and all the other staff members who were working with us. They really had a hard time with me, I think I was the hardest probably, maybe not but they helped me, they gave me vitamins, and meds when I needed, and so on, so I got through the hard part, I started on the program, which I quite enjoyed cause I could choose between a few things.

Louisiana Substance Abuse Facts

Substance abuse is prevalent in all parts of the United States, Louisiana included. Below are some statistics from 2015 concerning substance abuse among Louisiana residents aged 12 or older:

  • About 427,000 people 12 and older reported having abused marijuana.
  • Approximately 66,000 individuals reported cocaine use.
  • An estimated 6,000 people abused heroin that year.
  • More than 250,000 individuals had an alcohol use disorder.

Just over 12,000 people were in some type of substance abuse treatment program in a single day count in 2015, an increase from previous years. Considering the staggeringly large number of people who abuse drugs and alcohol, this one-day snapshot of those seeking treatment only represents a small portion of those who need addiction treatment help. Those who fail to seek help for substance abuse risk significant impairment in many areas of their lives including the development of significant mental and physical health problems.

Where Else Can I Find Help?

If you have an addiction to drugs or alcohol and you don’t have insurance, there may be alternative means of funding addiction treatment services. There are several ways in which you can finance your substance abuse treatment, such as:

  • State programs: These programs are funded by the government to provide a lower cost substance abuse treatment option for people in need.
  • Sliding scale: Some recovery programs are able to adjust the cost of treatment based on an individual’s income.
  • Payment plan: Likewise, a treatment program may allow an individual to pay off treatment over time if paying upfront would a cause significant financial burden.
  • Grants: You may apply for various drug or alcohol abuse grants offered by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

Other options for paying for rehab include taking out a personal loan or even asking for financial help from people who love you.
