Latest Reviews Of Rehab Centers In South dakota SD

The program options, the highly experienced staff and the activity options. I think this is the best holistic treatment center in the country. The staff is amazing and the groups helped me raise my awareness and change my thinking to a positive perspective.

I would like to say what a great program this was for my younger brother. Before coming to Community Counseling Services Alcohol and Drug Treatment Unit, he had been through several programs with no long-term success. After being arrested for the 3rd time and court ordered to this treatment center, we had very little hope. The staff here was very welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. This is the first treatment that he stayed past the detox unit. Being that his addiction was heroin, he went in being very sick from the 3 days in jail after his arrest. They took great care of him throughout the process. This treatment was different than the rest because I think that the staff and structure really covered all areas. From the detox to the education about drug addiction to the group work and art therapy, my brother left with all the tools he needs to stay clean. He is 8 months clean today, it has been not an easy road, but My family and I feel very confident in his progress and new clean lifestyle.

Caring staff Located in a serene environment. Great facilities. Maybe catered more to younger patients. Had a family member go to the facility. Our family learned a lot about addiction, mainly how to support our loved one effectively while establishing boundaries. It has been an integral tool in the healing of our family.

Horse Play Productions Healing Center is a world-class treatment center and everything from their staff to food was just perfect for me. My friend recommended the facility and I have never regretted my decision about going there.

SD Substance Abuse Facts

Drug and alcohol abuse continues to spread throughout our country, from large cities to small towns and everywhere in between. No state is immune from the problems substance abuse disorders create in families and in communities, including South Dakota.

In government surveys conducted between 2014 and 2015, patterns of drug and alcohol abuse were seen across all ages and demographics:

  • About 6.4% (or 4,000) of adolescents and teens between the ages of 12 and 17 reported using marijuana in the past month.
  • Approximately 10% (or 7,000) of that age group also reported using alcohol during the same time frame.
  • In South Dakotans 12 years and older, nearly 2,000 of them had used heroin in that year.
  • An estimated 403,000 South Dakota residents reported using alcohol in the past month, and 7.4% (or 51,000) of them also had an alcohol use disorder between 2014 and 2015.

When seeking help for a drug or alcohol abuse problem, it can feel overwhelming to know where to begin. Fortunately, you can search for treatment in South Dakota from this page’s directory listings. You may also consult with a trusted physician, therapist, or psychiatrist for a recommendation for a local substance abuse treatment provider. Additionally, community health centers often have lists of qualified providers available to the public.

Where Else Can I Find Help?

Even if you don’t have insurance, there are still plenty of options available for you. South Dakota Medicaid provides coverage for substance abuse treatment services to those who meet certain income requirements.

And, though many people may not realize it, most treatment centers are very willing to work with you on payment options so you can receive the help you need. They often have sliding scale payments based on income or will allow you to make payments over an agreed-upon period of time. Local churches, nonprofits, and charitable organizations frequently have benevolence funds or grants for those in need as well, and many partner with addiction treatment centers.
