User Reviews: Amazing staff A weakness was the old building This program is very efficient in terms of rehab and recovery and detox. This was an amazing experience, both for a strong start to my sobriety as well as a positive jumping off point for my sober relationships. The supportive staff was available to me 24/7 and were with me every step of the way to my recovery; from one-one-one talks with my counselor to supportive and safe, group meetings. I was always made to feel that my health and sobriety were of first priority to everyone with whom I worked. There was always a nurse in watch, and whenever there was any difficulty, I knew I could count on them, and on other staffs. The possibility of choosing from different programs just made things easier. I was not forced to do a program that I did not agree with, I have the possibility to decide for myself. And through out my stay, many times I had the possibility to choose, I was never forced into anything I did not agree with. I think that this is something that other rehabs lack, and I am glad that Acadiana Recovery Center is open minded about these things, and they let you choose. The grounds and buildings are immaculately kept and the food is great. My extensive food allergies were accommodated constantly. User Reviews: My sister went to Ochsner Addictive Behavior Unit last year and it saved her life. Honestly, it did much more than that though. I stopped talking to my sister years ago because I had given up that she’d ever get sober and then remain that way for any length of time. She’s struggled with addiction for 13 years and has been to rehab so many times I’ve lost count of how many. She usually finished those programs but she never stayed clean for more than 2 months. Usually though, she’d relapse within a week or two. It was depressing for everyone involved and after a while I made myself not care if she in rehab or getting high. I would have loved for her to go to a rehab and then stay sober afterward but I just didn’t see it happening. Until she went to Ochsner Addictive Behavior Unit. So many things changed for her there. Mainly she got sober and finally had the desire and the tools to stay that way. It’s been 8 months she since graduated from Ochsner Addictive Behavior Unit. She hasn’t relapsed. She’s still working hard and doing the things she needs to in order to stay sober. If you are having issues going into this program, which most people are, you will have many more when you leave. This place and the people there made me feel as though I was less than human and tore my self-esteem apart. I don’t call that success. My husband went through this program and so far he made a lot of progress. We like that this rehab treats their patients with individual programs and not everybody gets the same. The facility was very nice and neat, it did not feel like a rehab center but more like a hotel on vacation. My husband had a lot of a great time as this rehab celebrates a lot of holidays such as Thanksgiving, Easter etc... right now my husband is at home and he still has the aftercare program so we can make sure if he needs help then he will receive it fast. He is really a changed man, not drinking anymore and he is so much more at peace.
