This was an amazing experience, both for a strong start to my sobriety as well as a positive jumping off point for my sober relationships. The supportive staff was available to me 24/7 and were with me every step of the way to my recovery; from one-one-one talks with my counselor to supportive and safe, group meetings. I was always made to feel that my health and sobriety were of first priority to everyone with whom I worked. There was always a nurse in watch, and whenever there was any difficulty, I knew I could count on them, and on other staffs. The possibility of choosing from different programs just made things easier. I was not forced to do a program that I did not agree with, I have the possibility to decide for myself. And through out my stay, many times I had the possibility to choose, I was never forced into anything I did not agree with. I think that this is something that other rehabs lack, and I am glad that Acadiana Recovery Center is open minded about these things, and they let you choose. The grounds and buildings are immaculately kept and the food is great. My extensive food allergies were accommodated constantly. I would not hesitate in recommending Acadiana Recovery Center to anyone who suffers from addiction as they have changed my life and support me on a daily basis.

User Reviews: It was in 2009 I completed the program at Palmetto. By the grace of God I stayed despite the horrible treatment by administration, physicians, and clinical staff. One example is when my cabin was called to the center of the pavilion. I am hard of hearing and the size of the room made it even harder. When I would ask one of the counselors to repeat what they said to me, they lead the entire room in laughing at me. I should have been shown respect for my disability. This had nothing to do with my addiction.There was absolutely no good that came from the humiliation. The clinical and medical staff are stupid. One of my discharge plan was to return to Palmetto, sit in our counselors small group, and see t the other physician, see how much he impressed me, can not remember his name. He was extremely rude to me and wanted to know why was he seeing me. By that time I was finished with treatment and said to him,why don,t you read my discharge plan. Trust me, I would prefer not to see your face. Forty dollars a week times six in a cabin equals $ 240.00. This was to pay for everything, including toilet paper, etc. It is almost impossible to make it on this budget. We never had fruits or vegetables. The brown water was disgusting. How could you cook,drink or bathe in it without feeling dirty or enjoy your coffee or cooked food. I am still sober not thanks to Palmetto, but thanks to the Lord who gave me the strength to make through the Palmetto HelI.I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TREATMENT CENTER AT ALL! There is much more I could say , but I know anyone reading this gets it.

I actually fell in love with this facility during my stay here. Such a fun place to be! I don’t think my recovery would’ve been this much easier if I would’ve been somewhere else. Food options were very diverse and exotic in-between but always awesome! You also get free ice-cream and cigarettes. The staff was great and you could feel that they actually cared about you and your recovery. There were always something to do and a lot of fun activities like going to the movies with the staff and other clients, trips to the beach, barbecues, painting and art sessions and a lot more things that I truly cherished during my stay at the facility. I have been a huge fan of this facility ever since the successful completion of my treatment plan, have always recommended it and would always recommend it to someone who wants to get clean and sober.
This place really helps. They let you use your phone to talk to loved ones and friends and that helps a lot. The food is amazing and the counselors are too. All the staff here are really helpful.
