My parents found Maryhaven Delaware and I am so glad they did. I’ve been using and trying to quit heroin for the last 10 years and it’s been really hard. I’ve gone to a few 28-day programs but they didn’t really do much good. By the time the 28 days were up I still wouldn’t be feeling all that great and when I went home it became almost impossible to stay clean. I was able to move through the program at my own pace and when I did move forward on my program I was completely 100 percent ready to. Another thing about Maryhaven Delaware that was different for me was the fact that I actually enjoyed my time there. I didn’t spend my time there wishing I was somewhere else. I was happy being there and that made it so much easier to really concentrate on my program and not on anything that was happening at home. The counselors at Maryhaven Delaware are beyond amazing. I’ve never been to a place where every single counselor cares that much about the clients. I’ve been staying with my parents until both they and I feel like I’m ready to move out again. It’s amazing being about to reconnect with my parents. I never realized I missed just hanging out with my mom. I’m working now. I’ve had the same job for 2 months and as sad as it sounds, it’s the longest I’ve held a job.
