The mission of Haymarket Center is to aid people with substance use disorders in their recovery by providing comprehensive behavioral health solutions.
At Haymarket, the final cost of treatment is determined by the level of care required and the length of a person’s stay. Cost of treatment is based on a sliding scale and/or insurance coverage as well as other funding options.

Private insurance - all insurance checked individually at time of admission
City of Chicago (Dept. of Family and Support Services & Dept. of Public Health) - offers limited funding to the homeless
Specialized grants - discussed with client during admission process
DASA (Illinois Department of Alcohol & Substance Abuse)- state funding requires some documentation - proof of income or lack thereof, letter of residency, etc. - allows client treatment at no cost
Sliding scale fee structure for all levels of treatment- if private pay is deemed appropriate

Treatment Center Philosophy

Working primarily with the homeless, poor and ex-offenders, the Haymarket Center provides substance abuse treatment services including detoxification, intervention, residential treatment and transitional housing for both men and women. With an emphasis on the 12-Steps, treatment options at The Haymarket Center feature health and wellness classes, and job search and life skills training. All Haymarket treatment is geared toward helping patients lead a healthy, drug-free life.

Intensive Outpatient Program
Patients who undergo intensive outpatient treatment continue to live at home and sometimes go to school or work while participating in a highly structured treatment protocol that is focused on ending substance abuse. Programs vary in terms of how much treatment patients receive, how often and for how long. Some facilities design individualized intensive outpatient treatment programs.
Residential Treatment
Residential treatment programs provide housing (food and meals) in addition to treatment for substance abuse. Some facilities offer only short-term residential treatment, some offer only long-term treatment and others offer both, ranging from a few days to many months, based on patient needs.
