The goal of substance abuse treatment at the Fraser Center is to offer those whose lives are affected by alcohol and other drug problems a path to recovery. The program offers insight into the disease process of addiction, an introduction to the twelve-step model of recovery, and the identification of specific treatment goals for each individual. In addition, group therapy offers the support necessary to identify the interpersonal problems that may be obstacles to sobriety. Educational sessions are included to provide a basic knowledge of addiction as a disease, and how this disease has impacted individuals and their families physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually.
