Overview

The substance abuse outpatient services of Alexandria are given to City of Alexandria residents ages 18 and older. Priority for the programs is given to pregnant and post-partum women, those living with HIV/AIDS and intravenous drug users. A variety of programs are available to tailor treatment to individual needs and preferences. Individual counseling is provided as an adjunct to the treatment groups below, which are organized by the person’s stage of change in relation to alcohol and drugs. Other services such as group and family counseling, case management, psychiatric care and confidential testing are all available.
