My sister went to Northstar Health Systems last year and it saved her life. Honestly, it did much more than that though. I stopped talking to my sister years ago because I had given up that she’d ever get sober and then remain that way for any length of time. She’s struggled with addiction for 13 years and has been to rehab so many times I’ve lost count of how many. She usually finished those programs but she never stayed clean for more than 2 months. Usually though, she’d relapse within a week or two. It was depressing for everyone involved and after a while I made myself not care if she in rehab or getting high. I would have loved for her to go to a rehab and then stay sober afterward but I just didn’t see it happening. Until she went to Northstar Health Systems. So many things changed for her there. Mainly she got sober and finally had the desire and the tools to stay that way. It’s been 8 months she since graduated from Northstar Health Systems. She hasn’t relapsed. She’s still working hard and doing the things she needs to in order to stay sober. The schedule is amazing and has given me something to build upon now that I have graduated. You do not want to attend any other rehabilitation center as this place treats you as a human being, not as a prisoner. The directors are amazing people that will give an arm and leg to help with your recovery. The owner is not just a businessman but truly, TRULY, cares about people not only during their rehabilitation but progress afterward. I could not be more thankful for this program and what it has done for me. The gym/pool/fitness time is in my honest opinion the most beneficial aspect as it gave me a scheduled time to exercise and rid my body of nasty free radical toxins which can cause depression, it also gave my body an important rush of an endorphins to get back on track to living a healthy manageable life. I would NOT have entered any treatment facility but this one. Truly amazing staff. Nothing but love and appreciation on my behalf.
