We are able to get massages here and that was a big help for me in the fact that I was getting much better sleep and I felt that that helped me be more comfortable and have less anxiety on a day to day basis. Once completing the detox process I was able to attend groups or one on one counseling. A couple of things that I really enjoyed about the program was the workout rooms and the music room. Getting nutritious meals daily was great, but then being able to go the workout room daily and build up our muscles and get a strong balanced body back was something that I was striving for so that I could not feel weak and powerless anymore. The music therapy room was another thing that really worked for me. I think we all connect to music one way or another. I could not say enough good things about African American Family Services. I went to this treatment center for an alcohol addiction a few months ago, and I am very happy that I did. I had been struggling with an alcohol abuse habit for about twenty years and previous treatment centers I had gone too just were not working for me. African American Family Services treatment approach however was exactly what I needed to ensure that I could stay clean and sober for life. African American Family Services approach uses a lot of one on one attention and a lot of direct, focused treatment services to help people find their path to freedom from even the most difficult and unpleasant of substance abuse habits. One of my favorite things about African American Family Services is that this treatment center truly was able to help me see the future and see the path out of addiction and into a level of freedom and stability and abstinence that was lasting and permanent. African American Family Services combines an excellent degree of one on one services and group therapies to make for a well varied, and well thought out recovery approach. I will contend that this is a tricky program. You actually have to work at it and really apply yourself to it. I would say that the only reason why African American Family Services would not work for you would be if you were not committed to getting clean from your addiction when you entered into the treatment program. But then again, that would be true for anyone going to any kind of treatment program. With African American Family Services, if you want to get clean, you absolutely will get clean with their help. Of that I can say is true with certainty. This treatment center definitely goes the extra mile and puts in the effort to truly help people no matter how bad their substance abuse habits are. I am very pleased with everything that this treatment center was able to do for me and for the other individuals that I went there with. This treatment center really did save all of our lives and really helped us to find our peace of mind and our freedom from even the most difficult of substance abuse habits. Again, this program is tough, but if you are committed to it, it will save you from addiction.
