My sister went to Guidance and Prevention Services last year and it saved her life. Honestly, it did much more than that though. I stopped talking to my sister years ago because I had given up that she’d ever get sober and then remain that way for any length of time. She’s struggled with addiction for 13 years and has been to rehab so many times I’ve lost count of how many. She usually finished those programs but she never stayed clean for more than 2 months. Usually though, she’d relapse within a week or two. It was depressing for everyone involved and after a while I made myself not care if she in rehab or getting high. I would have loved for her to go to a rehab and then stay sober afterward but I just didn’t see it happening. Until she went to Guidance and Prevention Services. So many things changed for her there.
