Provider Description

The West Alabama Mental Health Center provides the following services:

  • Mental Illness
  • Intellectual disabilities
  • Substance abuse
  • Support services
The substance abuse services are available to all residents of the M-10 Catchment area who meet admission criteria established for the programs.

The outpatient program includes:
  • Multi-level Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
  • Substance Abuse Outpatient Counseling (OP)
  • A system of referral and linkage to needed services outside the scope of WAMHC.
The programming caters to adults, families, and children. Participants must be identified as a high risk for substance abuse, violence, child abuse/neglect, or HIV/AIDS without treatment. They also cater to men who have been incarcerated in state prison who are transitioning back to their community and/or who are on probation. Must meet certain criteria during an assessment.

Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
