Calhoun Cleburne Mental Health Center (New Directions) offers substance abuse treatment and also includes special programs focused for persons with mental and substance abuse disorders and DUI / DWI offenders.

Substance Abuse Day Treatment- Is a step down from residential treatment and is the most intense substance abuse program offered by Calhoun Cleburne Mental Health Center. This program is for those who need residential treatment and cannot go due to financial reasons or for those waiting for residential treatment. The program meets 5 days per week from 8:30am to 12:30pm.

New Directions Substance Abuse Program (Adult and Adolescent)- Provides comprehensive care to the substance abuser and his/her family. Services for the abuser include individual, group, and family therapy as well as information and referral to appropriate resources. Intensity of services (General Outpatient or IOP) is determined at the time of the assessment. Services are also provided to individuals with a dual diagnosis.

Court Referral Program- The DUI Level I Program (D.U.I. School) provides a 10 hour structured educational program for court-referred offenders in Calhoun and Cleburne Counties. The Level II Program (primarily multiple offenders) is a 24 hour program which provides intensive education for the offender and his/her family.

Case Management Services- Offers coordination of services such as assessment, living arrangements, health needs, etc; provided to the substance abuse clients and their families.

Emergency Service – the general function of the Emergency Service is to provide around-the-clock crisis intervention to those persons who are in need of immediate care. Intervention is accomplished either by telephone or face-to-face contact, depending upon the nature and extent of the emergency.

They offer sliding fee scales based on income and other factors, also accepts cash, self-payment, Medicaid, and military insurance.
